Handcrafted Children’s Furniture which is Fun and Functional

Planning your kids’ room is a big task. There is furniture to choose, walls to paint, safety to take into consideration. Probably the most exciting part of planning your kids’ room though, will be choosing the room’s theme. The theme you decide on will set the tone for the whole room so it will certainly need to be one of the first decisions that you make when your start the planning process.
There are almost endless supplies of themes available for a baby’s room. You could choose to go with something gender specific, a girl themed furniture, like the Always a Princess furniture that we have here at 1888Toys which are colored in beautiful pink, purple and cream with gold accents and a boy themed furniture like the Always a Prince which is colored in royal blue and red with gold accents, or you may want to consider choosing a gender neutral theme like the Little Farm House with great farm house paintings on each furniture piece included with this theme, if you plan to have more children. There are also sport team themes which you can choose for those that will start to become big fans of sports.
If you want to plan a room that will stimulate your baby as they grow, consider bright primary colors and geometric shapes and patterns. Red, blue, and yellow have been found to be the colors that help stimulate young infants. The good choice is the All 4 Sports furniture collection theme which has designs of 4 different sports and different primary colors on each piece of furniture. Bedding and wall décor with geometric shapes and patterns will also do this especially if the shapes and patterns are large. This will make it easier for the baby to see since it takes many months for an infant’s vision to completely develop.
Whatever theme you decide on for your kids’ room, be prepared to live with it for a few years. There is a very large variety of specially designed furniture for kids that you can add to your kids’ room such as toy boxes, bookcases, rockers, step stools desks, etc. All of these items can match the same theme or can add variety to your kids’ room. Since toddler beds take the same size mattress and bedding as a crib, you could continue to use the theme and bedding you choose in a toddler room if you wanted to.
No matter what theme you decide on, remember to have fun while taking on the whole nursery planning process. This is a joyous time in your life that you will always be able to look back on.
